Your Partner in Growing Businesses and Building Our Community
Seven years ago, Tucson gained a community leader. Unbeknownst to the Chamber membership at the time, they gained a passionate, genuine, thoughtful individual that ultimately would build the Chamber up to be the relevant organization that stands today. Mike Varney led the Tucson Metro Chamber with his heart on his sleeve, leading with facts and data, advocating to the powers that be the importance of jobs and a strong economy.
As Mike has reflected on his departure, he describes his tenure as, “a collection of challenge, joy, struggle and exhilaration.” I think his description parallels the evolution our community has taken over the last several years as we have made strides to break down barriers and identify opportunities for economic prosperity. An unwavering voice for the business community, Mike’s commitment to Tucson remains as he transitions to be a retired sunbird escaping our summer heat to travel and spend time with his family in the Midwest.
Today as the passing of the baton is completed and Mike serves his final day, I reflect on the first 30 days of my listening tour at the helm of the Tucson Metro Chamber. Common issues that continue to be brought forward include workforce development, talent attraction, infrastructure development and small business growth.
As my listening tour continues, I encourage you to be a part of the conversation. The Chamber team endeavors to get a well-rounded assessment of the challenges facing your business and our community. The Chamber is well positioned to champion issues the membership is clamoring for.
Please take a few minutes to complete this four-question survey. Tell us what you need from your business organization. Your feedback will help shape the programs and priorities of the Tucson Metro Chamber in the coming year.
Survey responses will be accepted through Wednesday, March 7.
The Chamber is your partner and together, strongly aligned, we will grow our economy. We are here to help grow your business, because that growth builds our community.
Sincerely,
Amber Smith
