Collaborative Support for Rio Nuevo Equals Win for the Community

The Tucson Metro Chamber thanks Governor Ducey and Rep. Mark Finchem, R-Tucson for their leadership in supporting House Bill 2456 extending the life of Rio Nuevo to 2035.

The bill was sponsored by Rep. Finchem, and overwhelmingly supported by the Arizona House of Representatives and the Arizona Senate. The Tucson Metro Chamber strongly advocated in support of this bill, submitting letters of support, testifying at the State Capitol and rallying chamber members and community supporters to testify to the positive economic impact the reformed Rio Nuevo Multipurpose Facilities District has had under Fletcher McCusker’s leadership. Tucson Metro Chamber Board Member Mark Irvin also serves on this board. Recent economic impact reports have shown that for every $1 invested into the District, $10 in private investment is made.

The Tucson Metro Chamber advocates on dozens of initiatives during the State Legislative session.
