Southern Arizona chambers come together to address healthcare challenge
Why would the chambers work together? Aren’t they all in competition with each other and do not get along?
That could not be further from the truth.
Late last spring, the Tucson Metro Chamber led an effort to bring the various chambers of commerce from across Southern Arizona together. Out of a single meeting rose the Southern Arizona Chamber of Commerce Association, a collaboration of 14 chambers from the seven southern counties: Yuma, Nogales, Florence, Marana, Oro Valley, Tucson Metro, Tucson Hispanic, Tucson GLBT, Green Valley-Sahuarita, Tubac, Vail, Benson-San Pedro, Wilcox and Sierra Vista. In the next year we hope to add five more chambers to our association. Each of the above listed chambers didn’t hesitate with the idea of coming together to better accomplish our goals—and each should be commended.
