Are you and your employees registered to vote in this November’s City of Tucson General Election? You should be, but you only have until Monday, October 9 to do so.
The numbers reported for voter turnout on the August 29 primary election were dismal. It is disappointing to see a lack of voter participation and to have a small minority of people electing those who make important decisions regarding our future. This needs to change.
A key step to ensuring the business voice is heard is to encourage your employees to participate in the electoral process by first, promoting voter registration. The success of your business is tied to the success of our city and the policy decisions that are made by our elected officials. Showing up on election day is more important than ever before.
Help the Tucson Metro Chamber promote a strong local economy by engaging in the political process. Working with leaders who are committed to enacting and implementing business-friendly policies will help us advocate for building a strong workforce, recruiting new businesses and retaining the ones already here. The prosperity of our city depends on making our voices heard.

The City of Tucson General and Special Election is Tuesday, Nov. 7, and the last day to register to vote is Monday, Oct. 9. The election will be conducted by mail, and six voting locations will be open on Election Day.
Ballots will be sent to registered voters on Oct. 11.
The City of Tucson election publication, “The Choice Is Yours,” will be mailed in early October to each household with a registered City voter. The booklet contains voter information about the election for the offices of council member in Wards 3, 5 and 6, as well as information on Propositions 202, 203, 204 and 406.
