Power Networking Lunch - September

It’s all about the POWER!!!! Join us at the September 9th Power Networking Lunch to be held at Doubletree Hotel located at 445 S. Alvernon Way. This is the place to meet over 100 people in one spot so make sure you bring plenty of business cards (+200) to use during the program and to set out at the business card resource table!!! State of Education Luncheon-A Community Conversation on K-12

This year’s event is based on the Tucson Regional Town Hall which was held in Spring 2007. It is a collaboration between the Tucson Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, members of the public, and key business and educational organizations. The half day event begins with ”Community Conversation on K-12″ where full audience participation will forge solutions to the region’s educational challenges originally identified at the Tucson Regional Town Hall. Peter Smith, principal investigator for the University of Arizona’s Phoenix Mars Mission, will address the importance of teachers and the need for high quality education at this session. The “Conversation” will then be followed by a luncheon in which Governor Janet Napolitano will speak and address the State’s educational environment and new initiatives for improvement. In addition, an Education Expo will be held 10:30 am - 2:30 pm. Exhibitors will be educators or businesses involved in education efforts or promoting education. 
This event will be held at the Tucson Convention Center located at 260 S. Church on October 1st. Cost to attend this event is $45/person. Reservations are required by September 26th.  For more event information, please contact Arlene Chiovetti.

International State of the State Luncheon

Having been held in Phoenix for the last four years, 2008 marks the first time this event will be held in Tucson. The Governor will define her international priorities for Arizona for 2008-2009 and engage in discussion around key international initiatives. The Governor’s leadership of the National Governor’s Association together with the heightened focus on border issues has elevated Arizona’s position and visibility in this critical area.  This is Tucson’s first opportunity to hear her perspectives on the state of international trade in Arizona, as well as her plans for future growth for this important economic driver for the state. Make your reservations today for this luncheon that will be held on Monday, October 6th at the Westin La Paloma Resort. Registration begins at 11:30 am and the program will begin at 12 noon. The Safety Works Expos are designed for safety professionals, employers, workers and the people who are in charge of safety at their specific jobs. Conferences feature workplace safety information, safety products and services offered throughout the state, networking opportunity with other safety professionals and classes that focus on workplace safety issues for the specific region of the state. Specific topics taught by respected safety leaders include everything from workplace accident investigations, defensive driving, fall protection, fire hazard assessment and personal protective equipment to workers’ compensation claims management and legal issues.

Arizona Athletics WINTER Kick Off Luncheon

Mark your calendars for the upcoming UA luncheon set for Thursday, November 6th at the Tucson Convention Center. This is a chance for Wildcat fans to get together before the season starts and show their support to the student-athletes and coaches in basketball, swimming and diving, and gymnastics. Hear first hand from the head coaches and assistant coaches about the goals for the upcoming season. Join Wilbur, the cheerleaders, and the band as they pump up the crowd and do a round of “BEAR DOWN ARIZONA”! Doors open at 11:30 am and the program begins at 12 noon. Cost is $40/person.
